VACCINES ARE NOT JUST FOR BABIES: ADOLESCENTS NEED VACCINES, TOO ! ! ! Dear Parent: As your child gets older, there are several vaccines that are recommended to ensure their health as adults. By making sure that your child is fully immunized, not only will you be protecting your child, but also their friends, families, and the community. Check your child’s immunization record for the following vaccinations: For children age 11 and up:
For all school-age children:
Families that have health insurance should talk to their child’s physician about immunizations. Families that do not have health insurance, or whose health insurance does not cover the cost of immunizations may be eligible to receive the vaccines free or at a reduced cost through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. Please call the Clinton County Health Department, Nursing Division, at 382-7221 for information about the VFC program or for information about immunization clinics.
