WHAT HAPPENS AT WIC?
When you come to WIC clinic to apply, the staff will:
 | Ask for identification. |
| Ask to see proof of income and address. |
| Measure height, weight. |
| Check blood iron. |
| Take a health history. |
| Ask about foods you eat. |
The WIC Dietitian or Nurse will
| Evaluate your health & diet. |
| Check your child’s shot record. |
| Help you know what foods are good for you. |
| Help you make goals to improve your diet & health. |
| Give you a WIC food package. |
| Help you know where you can go for other services you need. |
There is no charge for WIC. Getting WIC does not affect getting a Medical Card or Food Stamps
