Public Swimming Pool/Spa

Regulations:  Ohio Revised Code, Sections 3749.01 to 3749.99, Ohio Administrative Code, Chapter 3701-31.
 

bulletA Public Swimming Pool/Spa is any indoor or outdoor structure, chamber, or tank containing a body of water for swimming, diving, or bathing that is intended to be used collectively for swimming, diving, or bathing and is operated by any person whether as the owner, lessee, operator, licensee, or concessionaire, regardless of whether or not a fee is charged for use, but does not mean any public area or private residential swimming pool.
bulletPublic Swimming Pool/Spa Licenses are renewed every year and are in effect from May 1 to May 1.
bulletThe Public Swimming Pool/Spa License fee is set by the licensor which shall not exceed the cost of licensing and inspecting public swimming pools, public spas, and special use pools.

bulletPublic Swimming Pools are inspected annually prior to the opening and issuance of the license and are inspected regularly, as deemed appropriate.
